The first thing I learned today was that my sleeping schedule was messed up beyond belief (other members of JAVAK felt the same thing). You only realize that after waking up early after heading to bed at 2 AM and 3 AM and beyond. Another thing I learned today was that writing a blog post is difficult; summing up the events of a day is hard.
However, a picture is worth a thousand words. And we captured quite a few.
Despite the early time, 10 AM, we all assembled in front of the Autodesk office and headed toward our room to hit the ground running on the game that can teach kids how use CAD software.

Look at our CAD team go!
Violet (pictured suffering left)... Ahhh yes, she’s was working quite hard on CAD-ing a rectangle. It was a high-tech looking rectangle (let me tell you that). So high-tech, it's going to be one of the main elements in our game!
And Kiana (pictured right). This is where she was caught SLACKING OFF (just kidding, she worked very hard on the GUI for the CAD tutorial). According to Violet, she was having an existential crisis.
And below, we have our solid graphics team.
Jenny (left) , somehow holds it together. Look at her go. She’s a graphics pro at this point. If you only could see her bookshelves, lockers, and miscellaneous game objects. (Also look at Violet and Kiana’s awesome flashlight! I’m pretty sure Violet hates flashlights with a burning passion now. PUN INTENDED.)
And me (Ashley) (right). I swear I was awake (despite my terrible sleeping habits). I refused to rest until I finished modeling the fire extinguisher we were going to use in the game.

Can't forget Arun (right)!!! Arun is an enigma. He’s deep in thought over the game controls. Probably wondering why his collider wasn’t working and why he could enter a mountain… Our game environment still needs a bit of work. He pulled through with his work in Unity, establishing the game controls! |
Anyway, we still left with all smiles knowing we accomplished quite a lot, got the momentum going, and felt quite grateful that we got to do what we love together as a team. Feels good.
