Time flies, guys. It’s Day 2 of Week 3. It may only be Tuesday, but Friday (THE DUE DATE OF OUR SECOND DELIVERABLE) feels like it could be tomorrow. Ready to work, we started the day at Jenny’s house, which was a fun change of scenery. One source of motivation today was the Lion King soundtrack, especially the Circle of Life. (It’s a good song for when we get stressed, be a little simba-thetic). |
Violet modeled the clamp for the energy scooter (used in our final level), and finished the tutorial for it with pictures and a blueprint. She also started modelling a key for the elevator, a major part of Level 2.
Kiana had the exciting task of making videos for our tutorial for the counterweight. During this process, Kiana developed a profound appreciation for Violet because Violet’s job is “truly a struggle.” One truly begins to understand Violet's distressed faces after going through what she has gone through to develop this game.
(Round of applause for our CAD team, they deserve it.)
Design Team Arun brought Level 2, “The Warehouse,” into the scene and started working on the Inventory GUI for Level 2. (The rest of JAVAK will help Arun make the inventory GUI pretty later...) Jenny continued modeling Level 3, fixed the elevator model's door, and altered some models in Level 2. We have the layout for Level 3 planned out and we have begun the placement of some of our miscellaneous game pieces like the conveyor belt. If I was the player, experiencing Jenny’s Level 2 layout, I would have a lot of fun navigating this game. It's like...sci-fi factory meets Indiana Jones...meets Mad Max...it's great. Ashley finished the model of a robot arm to be used throughout Level 3, “The Factory.” (This robot arm is loosely based off of a KUKA robot which you may have seen play table tennis against a pro). This model is probably one of the most complicated ones I’ve done so far and trust me, I put my skills to the test. |
Hakuna Matata, it's the motto, it means no worries for the rest of your days. We got this. That’s why we end each day with a selfie and smiles (ft. special guest, SIMBA).
